The Journey Home: Move-In Week at Bel Cavallo

After nearly a year of preparation, renovation, and patience—move-in week is officially here.

The house isn’t quite finished. The kitchen is still under construction. And the to-do list is far from done. But even so, it’s happening. We’re moving into our forever farm.

This week marks a major milestone for Bel Cavallo. Since purchasing the property, we’ve poured our energy into caring for the land, overseeing construction on the barn, and navigating the many ups and downs of remodeling a nearly 100-year-old farmhouse. From long delays due to rain and scheduling setbacks, to hidden surprises tucked behind old walls, it’s been an adventure every step of the way.

But even with the dust and the chaos, we wouldn’t trade this journey for anything.

This week, we’ll be unpacking boxes, settling in with our animals, and beginning to live the life we’ve envisioned for so long. It may take a little while before everything is fully in place, but we’re choosing to savor the process. Every rug unrolled, every light turned on, every night spent under this roof is one step closer to home.

Thank you to everyone who’s followed our story so far. We can’t wait to share our first sunrise, our first muddy morning feed, and all the small, quiet moments that make this farm feel like more than a dream.

Stay tuned for a post soon on what our first morning waking up on the farm looks like—coffee mugs in hand, dogs at our feet, and hearts full of gratitude.
