Feathers and Porch Swings: Welcoming the Chickens of Bel Cavallo

As we continue settling into life at Bel Cavallo, we’re not just raising barns and dreams—we’re raising chickens, too.

Meet the newest additions to our little farm family:
Miss Flower Fleury
Miss Marshie Marchessault
– and Miss Karlie Karlsson

These ladies are just a few weeks old, but already sprouting feathers and personalities. They’ve quickly turned their cozy little chick house into a bustling headquarters of peeps, flutters, and curious glances.

And no one is more fascinated than Babette, our beloved house cat.

When she’s not lounging on the Bel Cavallo porch swing or watching the squirrel matinee from her favorite window perch, she’s stationed by the chick house, tail twitching, eyes wide with curiosity. She seems to think the girls would make great playmates. (We’ll see about that.)

Raising these chicks is one more small, intentional step toward the kind of farm life we’re building here—rooted in care, connection, and a whole lot of character. The horses may be the heart of Bel Cavallo, but the chickens? They’re bringing a whole new level of charm.

Stay tuned for more updates as the girls grow. You’ll be seeing a lot of them around here.
